CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2019-20

Quarterfinals, semifinals and final played as straight knockout in Lisbon, Aug 12-23.

RO16 played Aug. 7-8, venues TBC at home or in Portugal.
Istanbul will now host the 2021 Champions League final, with St Petersburg in 2022, Munich 2023, Wembley 2024
EUROPA LEAGUE 2019-20

Quarters, Semis and Final to be held in Germany. Final in Cologne.

RO16 - TBC if second leg matches are at the home team or in Germany. One-legged tie for matches that have not started.
Gdansk will now host the 2021 Europa League final, Seville will host in 2022, Budapest in 2023.
EUROPEAN SQUADS

Teams can add three new players to their squads for the remaining games BUT these players must already be registered for the club.

As predicted, new signings (Werner, Ziyech) CANNOT play.
Five subs will be allowed for 2019-20, returning to 2020-21.

The UEFA Super Cup will now be played in Budapest on September 24.
As expected, national associations must put forward teams for European competition by August 3.

Qualifying rounds will be played as ONE-LEG matches, other than the final qualifying round of the UCL which is two legs.

UCL group stage starts on October 20, 21.
EURO 2020

All original venues confirm they can host in 2021, so the match schedule remains in its original form.

The playoffs will be played October 8 and November 12 as part of treble-header internationals.
The UEFA Nations League will go ahead on the original international breaks.

Inter Milan v Getafe and Sevilla v Roma, whose first leg was also postponed, will be played as a single leg at a venue to be confirmed.

A decision will be made on whether the RO16 matches for which the first leg has been played will be staged at the home team’s venue or Germany.
The draws for the quarter-finals and semi-finals will take place on 10 July 2020 at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon.

Decisions about the venues for the RO16 ties to be taken before that draw takes place, early in July.

UEFA Europa League 2020/21

Preliminary round: 20 August
First qualifying round: 27 August
Second qualifying round: 17 September
Third qualifying round: 24 September
Play-offs: 1 October
Group stage: 22 and 29 October, 5 and 26 November, 3 and 10 December
As predicted again here, the 2020-21 Europa League first qualifying round is not until after the 2019-20 Europa League has finished, due to three teams in leagues ranked 16-55 still being in the UEL.
The group stage draws for the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League will take place in Athens at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre on 1 and 2 October 2020 respectively.

The 2020-21 knockout schedule remains is unaffected.

With the the October and November international dates being treble headers to fit in the Euro playoffs, other nations now have 7/8 October and 11/12 November allocated as dates for friendlies.
