VCSE orgs have a lot on their plate but will probably have to restructure and reprioritise their activities at least three times in a short space of time - think of this as response, recession and resumption
[thread]
In the response phase we've had to adjust to lockdown. Supporting staff to work from home, trying to manage some essential functions safely and furloughing other staff

This has all has a cost - there's been a lot of time spent adjusting even for orgs that had the tech in place
The lifting of lockdown won't signal a return to normal - we'll re-open & restart some activities at the start of a recession

Important to remember the impact of the last recession and there'll be a need to reprioritise and maybe reduce organisation size

Should we find a vaccine and resume old ways of life then we'll find that some approaches, designed for distancing guidelines, aren't efficient

But we won't be able to flip a switch and go back to where we were. Another reorganisation will be needed
That could all take place over 18 months!

Do we have the resources & ability to restructure three times?

Are funders prepared for these rapidly shifting demands?

It's important that we don't just focus on income lost due to covid but also prepare for other significant stresses
