I have a penis. I do not hate people with penises. Some of my best friends have penises too. But it’s obvious why many women or children would feel anxious if they were isolated among people with penises. Empirically, penises have done bad. This isn’t bigotry against my own penis
There you go, I sidestepped the red-herring of gender for everyone by focusing on what is usually called ‘sex’, but narrowed it down to the precise instrument of concern in a gender neutral way, without allowing wiggle room for semantics about self-identification. Much obliged

The weirdest thing isn’t that I typed this. It’s that I felt the *need* to type it at all. But I respect @jk_rowling. What happened to her & other women online is sad. I also abhor & condemn bigotry against trans, who happen to suffer at the hands of other people with penises too
I love all. As an ex-homophobe (when I was an Islamist) I had to read this topic inside out, to purge my former bigotry. Safeguarding is a legitimate concern that, by definition,only concerns a minority of miscreants,but must apply to all due to not knowing who the bad apples are
And by the way, oh ye ivory tower Twitterati, the overwhelming majority of ordinary folk in western democracies & around the world simply *know* the above to be instinctively true, without the need for humour. It is simply a non-starter to make this a party campaign issue.
