In case anyone is interested, the gender recognition process as it stands requires the applicant to pay £140, provide more documentation than for any other official process whatsoever, and provide an extensive medical history include intimate information about genitals.
It requires handing over confidential medical information including an entire life history which is required as part of the confirmation of a gender dysphoria diagnosis, to a panel of strangers whose legal requirement to keep that information confidential is not confirmed.
To receive a pension at the correct age and not be outed by a birth certificate, to have a correct marriage certificate, trans people have to subject themselves to a level of scrutiny and violation only experienced otherwise by refugees.
It is worth making that comparison because the way a country treats those with no power is the way it would treat everyone given the chance.
