It should be safe for young women to be a fan of male creators. It should be safe to reach out to the established dudes and express your admiration and interest in their work. It should be safe for young female creatives to seek out mentors and connections in their industry.
Young women should be able to approach male creators without being met with lewd innuendo, requests for nudes, or favors that disappear if they're sexually disinterested. Girls shouldn't have to question whether their idol is only cool to them because he wants to sleep with them.
To men with creative success in whatever field: When young women reach out to you, most of the time they don't want to fuck you. They want to be you. They want your attention, they want to learn, they want to show what they can do. They want to get where you are, do what you do.
It can be easy to confuse the two, on both sides. If the only thing you respond to with support and attention is sexual interest, young women with ambition will pick up on that. Many will be discouraged, and may stop pursuing their dream. Some will take the bait. No one wins.
