I have spent the past hours studying the DOJ complaint against Bolton.

@bradmoss esq is right that the law from Snepp on is unfavorable to Bolton--but I still think outcome is a close question.

Why--and what will that outcome be? (1/4) https://twitter.com/BradMossEsq/status/1273001932571975682
To begin, I have signed the same/similar agreement at WH and State Dept., cleared a book of my own thru pre-pub review (repped by Brad’s partner @MarkSZaidEsq), and myself repped others doing same.

Bolton cut the process short, no question. But (2/4)
But he was being jerked around—also no question.

Ultimately, the decision will turn on whether there really is classified info (which I doubt, but will know more when I see the book)

And on whether Trump is unreasonably abusing review process (which I feel certain of)

Courts won't enforce the contract if no classified and Trump abusing process. Bolton has a steep hill to climb given Snepp and the other precedents but just he may do it.

1 more thing: Bolton does have some criminal exposure. Barr has shown he has no limits. 4/4 PS:
PS Bolton likely wins a criminal case before most juries based on what we know now--but I wouldn't want to gamble on that, esp. if Trump (God forbid) is reelected.

PPS I can't believe I spent HOURS thinking this thru when I coulda been relaxing! I'm a glutton for punishment.
