BREAKING: San Antonio just reported 436 new cases of COVID-19, the biggest single-day increase by far.
Hospitalizations are also rising at a rapid clip. There are currently 212 people in the hospital, including 82 in the ICU and 41 patients on ventilators.
For context, there were 93 people hospitalized in San Antonio on June 1, including 39 in the ICU and 20 on ventilators.

This is really concerning. The lockdowns and social distancing were instituted to prevent our hospitals from becoming overwhelmed. Before this month, hospitalizations had been steady and had even dipped below 60 at one point.
It's hard work to care for COVID-19 patients. There's only so much capacity, especially because hospitals are doing elective procedures again.
