When I talk to my contacts and interlocutors in the Middle East & North Africa they don’t ask “are you speaking with your FCO hat or your DFID hat?”

They just want to know that they are speaking with an HMG minister and that we will get stuff done.
DFID and the FCO have already been working together and the merger will reinforce that success.

We will protect our commitment to spend 0.7% of GNI on development and DFID’s world class development specialists will join the FCO’s other world class specialists.
This is about maximising Global Britain as a force for good in the world.

Excited about the future.
