How to install a new outlet on the cheap, in pictures. Anyone can do it.
First, here are the tools and supplies you will need.
After cutting a hole for the outlet box, route the wire running kit into the attic(or crawl space) and use the hook to pull the fish line.
I used the hook to pull the pull the fish tape back into the garage. Then taped the Romex wire to the fish tape to pull it into the attic.
You'll see an extra hole, it was an exploratory hole to see where I was. After that it was easy to figure out where I really needed to drill.
At this point I realized the circuit I wanted to use was going to be inaccessible. So with the help of my friend, we found a circuit that had very little on it and there was a junction box right where the attic entrance is.
At this you want to make sure the breaker to the circuit is off. Cut the wire were ever you have excess. Wire both ends. Don't forget to feed the outlet end through the back of the box(blue)
Wiring the outlet is easy. Its@color coded and there are instructions in the package. Put the outlet in the box and button it up.
Back in the attic or crawl space you want to tack down the wire.
Once everything is done, turn the breaker on and test the outlet. I used a 13amp circular saw to to really test if it would pop the breaker. It's all done. Just time for clean up.
