Paraphrasing Oluwatosin Adebiyi (med student)...Are we in #MedEd holding ourselves accountable to teaching the history of the intersection of structural racism & health? And to continually & intentionally working to undo this?
This systemic issue merits systemic change. Lean in to our discomfort, #MedEd. We need to take care of our own backyard...fix our learning environments.
Accountability starts w clear targets 4 transformation. Policies. Clinical cases in classroom. Bias in grading/testing. Fac/staff/resident recruitment. Student admissions. Mistreatment/microaggression in learning environments. Access 2 care. Upstander training. A start only.
