that “preference” word is starting seem like an excuse for your colorism.. let’s unpack this a bit more.

put it like this, you’re in a room full of people of all colors, but a dark skin person keeps catching your eye. everyone is beautiful but something about that dark skin is really catching your eye, you PREFER them so you go talk to them. that’s absolutely FINE.

what’s not fine is seeing that person and saying “if only they weren’t dark skin, my preference is light skin, sorry” ... like??? or putting down other skin tones because you find one more attractive to YOU.
