Unpopular Opinion: console buyers don't actually care about exclusives. They're much more concerned about price. Exclusives carry momentum but not sales. Look at any first-party PS4 title this gen; 5-13 million units sold, tops. That's less than 10% of PS4 owners. [Cont.]
I personally care about exclusives, but this is my core hobby. I buy more than 10 games a year, i'm apart of that 10% and chances are that you are too. But most normal people buy a console to play Cod, Fortnite, GTA5, Siege or Sports Games. [Cont.]
With #PS5 and #XboxSeriesX being as close as they are in Specs, things are going to get really interesting. Cross-play will kill the friend-bubbles and the majority of games will be on both systems. That being the case, the only thing not announced which matters; price. [Cont.]
Xbox took a kicking this gen, they sold half of what Playstation did (still not bad imo) but the one thing which Spencer has probably been (and should have been) pushing for since day one of his leadership position is getting Microsoft to sell XboxSeriesX at a loss. [Cont.]
I really wouldn't be surprised to see a base XboxSeriesX at $399.
Sony will have time to adjust, but they have momentum and likely wont shift a $499 price point. If so, Xbox could easily build a footing as the industry transitions towards streaming services like PSnow/Xcloud.
