A bitter, blunt but mind blowing #thread on-

1. Why india needs to have own social media platforms
2. Difference b/w the thoughts of indian and chinese govt.
3. Make in india 2.0

Following thread is based on my vision and study. My intention is not to hurt anyone.
When jayant sinha said, “we must create our own Facebook google etc, in India Ideas conclave 2017, I thought that time has came to have our own social media.

Since, my 9th grade which I passed in 2009, I have been advocating the idea to have our own social media.
Why we need our own social media and e-commerce?
Data is the new oil and the biggest sources of data are-

1. Social networking- lead by Facebook
2. Search engine- lead by google
3. E-commerce- lead by amazon
4. Video streaming- lead by youtube
5. Micro blogging- lead by twitter
India has a market of 140 crore people which is equal to 70 Australia or 3 European Union or 5 America or 14 japan. Now just think how big data we have but we are delighted to be an idiotic consumer and not the creator. In past 2-3 years data have become cheap but the companies
who are data driven or investing in data have become giants and India despite of having 140 crore of population is missing out all the fun.

Whats the problem with India?

1. China kicked out facebook by creating its own platform whereas we welcomed Facebook to come and
take our own market, a market value of 140 crore people.

2. So called indian brands flipkart, myntra, paytm, snapdeal all have foreign majorities stake holder. They are indian but the profit they make doesn’t belong to india. Why? Lack of leadership vision. India has failed
to have a dynamic and visionary leadership till 2014 and we have given our juicer market to foreigners in platters. Do we really got freedom in 1947, I doubt.

3. Chinese understood the market very early. That the difference of having an engineer as a prime
minister and having a satyr as a prime minster, not talking about modi.

Believe me or not but Xi Jinping is man behind $14 trillion economy. And because of that they are daring to bark at us.
4. We think that we have TCS, Infosys and vipro. Well, they dont have market cap of even 10% worldwide. They are happy by making quality profit of 5%-8%.. They are happy being a unicorn (company with worth of $1 billion) and they are not willing to become decacorn or Hectocorn
(companies with worth of $10 billion and $100 billion respectively).

5. Have you ever thought why companies like flipkart and micomax failed to sustain in the market, despite of having a brilliant start. It’s because of the lack of political support as foreign companies play
their dirty games and they dont let these companies sustain. On the other hand chinese govt give whatever a CEO requires. They are much aggressive than us when it comes to economic battle.

Can india develop it? Do we have such talents?
a. In 1999 kargil war America denied to give us satellite co-ordinantes of our enemies, and by 2014 end we had developed our own high tech satellite GPS system.
b. In 1993 USA didn’t allow us to have cryogenic engine technology but we developed it by 2010.
c. Most of these data driven companies are headed by indian brains. So, we have talent, we have market all we lack is vision.

And I believe that narendra modi has the capability to have this vision. I mean come on, he is the biggest nationalist leader. He has about 6
crores followers on twitter. Everytime he tweet it add value to twitter and not to india. Remember how a buzz was created when recently he announced that he would give up his social media account? Creating a social media platform is not a rocket science. I can do it, and
so can many but all we need is economical and political support. If Nandan Nilekani can be apportioned to design Adhar card. Why cant sundar can be appointed to design our own search engine, he is indian by heart, give him billion of dollors to
stand a company like google in india and then watch the show. We will go beyond china as well.

All I cant understand, why government is not willing for it. Why we are happy to be as consumers when we can be owners. Govt. Can do it in 6 months, trust me.
If we want to become a super power we need to make our own platform, else we will never achieve it. Recently we made a record by exporting more indian assembled phones than importing foreign assembled phones through make and I think its high time, we must have our own platforms.
