Non chronically ill people seem to think it's a sign of faking if someone has a laundry list of illnesses and symptoms, but what they fail to understand is that when one thing goes wrong in the body it's really easy for other things to go wrong and a snowball effect to happen. /1
For example, one of my earliest symptoms was joint pain. I was put on medication for joint pain that four years later led to me developing erosive gastritis, from which I experience several other symptoms. One symptom led to a whole new illness and further symptoms. /2
Also, my disease is multi-systemic. When an illness effects multiple systems, it's easy to develop further illnesses to do with those systems. E.g me having PoTS because my autonomic nervous system is affected. /3
Anyway, it just bugs me that these people think they are so good at spotting illness fakers when they clearly know very little about the illnesses that are apparently being faked /4
This is true for mental illness as well by the way.
Also, nobody has accused me of faking (currently) but I see this used against people all the time and I think it's a stupid reason to assume someone is faking (even if that person actually is faking)
