1/ Excited for Alan and I to release our 1st Weekly @SeamlessMD Podcast. Show will focus on our learnings on Digital Patient Engagement. 2/ The @SeamlessMD story really starts at @uoftmedicine during my medical training where I met my mentors @HowardBAbrams and Dr. Dante Morra at @UHNOpenLab - an interprofessional team of clinicians, designers and engineers working to re-engineer care for complex patients.
3/ I did research on hospital readmissions and became obsessed with the problem space. By the 4th year of med school @uoftmedicine I had the itch to build technology to improve the healthcare system.
4/ Fortunate to be accepted into @NEXT_Canada accelerator and meet my co-founders @willie_kwok & @PhilChen23 - whose comp sci & engineering backgrounds complimented my medical background. Together the 3 of us started @SeamlessMD
5/ Initial @SeamlessMD focus was monitoring patients to prevent heart failure readmissions. However got more early excitement from surgeons. Much appreciation to @CarmineSimon & @MGHToronto - our earliest adopters! True healthcare innovators
6/ Friends at @SAGES_Updates introduced us to early partner @lianefeldman at @cusm_muhc who taught us about Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) and inspired us to expand @SeamlessMD for ERAS pathways
7/ Also some hilarious early @SeamlessMD stories about exploring “Seamless Pets” for vets, why the company’s initial name was “VitalCLiK” and more! Since then, @SeamlessMD has expanded across surgery, into other clinical areas and across North America! What a ride.
8/ Upcoming podcasts include what we’ve learned helping providers use Digital Patient Engagement to increase patient accessibility, deliver ERAS, prevent readmissions, integrate with EHRs and more! Lots of amazing guests, including team members, customers and partners. Let’s go!
