As someone who cares for snakes and has had pet snakes in the past (and probs will in future), this hurts my heart
Red Tailed Boas are such stunning creatures
They're essentially harmless, mostly feeding on small mammals and things
Non-venomous
Not aggressive
Why would you??? https://twitter.com/DialShania/status/1272420473658368004
Pls if you find a snake in your home or in your zone I'm not saying go run and pick it up (that's not safe if you don't know what you're doing) but please call the professionals instead of killing them
ECWC would be more than happy to send someone to relocate the INNOCENT animal
You can find ECWCTT on IG (El Socorro Wildlife Centre)
You can reach out to me or a host of other environemtal NGOs on social media that may be able to point you in the right direction (like the @UWIBioSoc on IG)
Just please don't kill them
I promise you they mean you no harm
Also I know what I just said but let's be clear snakes aren't 'pets' like a cat or dog
Unless you are a licensed professional and/or caring for an animal that's currently being rehabed or cannot be released into the wild you should not have a pet snake
All our local species (minus the three venemous ones which are classes as pests) are classes as protected species and it is technically against the law to kill them, or keep them without a license
Please
Just dont
