As a coach I feel I must step up for my players and have their back when they are being unfairly cristicized or labeled. Many of our players have worked extremely hard and committed to travelling to practices on a weekly basis to develop their game.
I believe Paul is misinformed when it comes to our league, the quality of players, and the cost of playing for our program. The efforts of these young athletes should not be disregarded by having them simply labeled as rich kids who couldn’t make AAA.
Not every HSL team is perfect, and yes there are some players who struggle to keep up in some divisions, but let’s not throw judgement at kids who are chasing their dream because they chose an alternative path.
I don’t know where our players from last season will end up, but if the season before was any indication then I believe there are bright futures for more of our hard working athletes.
I don’t believe Paul meant this as an insult, I simply feel he is misinformed about our league and it’s players. I am hopeful he can come watch a game next season to see our very talented, hardworking teams in action.
