Mr. Friedman, you have mischaracterized both Harris’ qualifications and campaign, both of which are categories I can show in metrics how Harris exceeds Warren. I would much rather that we unite in solidarity but I will not stand for your denigration of Sen. Harris’
Campaign.

Sen. Kamala Harris spent just under $40 million and Sen. Elizabeth Warren just over $121 million.
Harris peaked around 15% RCP avg. in Jul. and dropped out in Dec. before ballots were cast.
Warren peaked around 26% RCP avg. in October and dropped out in Mar. after 20 losses.

Harris peaked in Jul. and dropped out in Dec. 5 months after peaking. She spent $2.6 million per % point in peak.
Warren peaked in Oct. and dropped out in Mar. 5 months after peaking. She spent $4.6 million per % point in peak.
Warren spent 77% more per % point.

Warren came in 3rd in her home state and lost 20 primaries and caucuses. She got zero delegates in 8 of them, where she tied Harris (even though Harris dropped out months earlier).
She got 54 delegates total (2.7% of what she needed to win). She spent 3x as much as Harris.

By contrast, Shirley Chisholm came in 4th in California running as a black woman in 1972 spending ca. $2 million (adjusted for inflation).
She won 28 (1.8% of nom.) delegates during the primary process but had 152 delegates on the first ballot at DNC convention (10% of nom).

As another point of reference,
in the 2016 primary Clinton spent just under $200 million (less than Sanders) and won the nomination.
Harris ran as both black and AAPI woman. Chisholm is a precedent for the former but I have not yet learned of precedent for the latter.

Sen. Warren was able to raise less than 2/3s as much as Sec. Clinton.
Sen. Harris was able to raise over 11x as much as Rep. Chisholm.
To call Harris’ campaign a disaster while praising Warren is to display both a profound historical ignorance and disrespect.
