HOW TO BECOME AN ON-AIR PERSONALITY (OAP)

Quite a number of people aspire to be OAPs and they are constantly searching for answers on “the right way to go about it”. If you fall into this category, then this post is for you;

1.The first question you need to answer as an aspiring OAP is,

“What type of OAP do I want to be?

With the emergence and popularity of social media and the internet today, broadcasting has gone way past the traditional Radio and TV, therefore you need to choose what platform
you intend to start from and what platform is your end goal.
It is okay if you want to utilize more than one platform, but you must have a clear vision of where you are headed in mind.

2.After answering the first question, then you should proceed to strategize on how to
achieve your goal.

Do you need to create YouTube videos and promote them?

Do you need to submit your CV to certain TV or Radio stations?

Do you need to attend certain events so that you can network with other OAPs that may be able to help you in achieving your dreams?
Figure it out!

3.The next step is to choose the niche you want to focus on and in doing this, it is highly recommended that you choose a niche where you have a lot of expertise so that you wouldn’t run out of content ideas and topics to discuss.
When coming up with content ideas, you must also be able to think creatively and adopt a unique style that would distinguish you from every other person in the field, which would make your audience love you.
Asides these points mentioned above, there are other important points and practical steps that you need to take note of on your journey to “Becoming an On-Air Personality”.
