I'm going to show you something..

This will require a thread, this will require you to read. But when you read read carefully.....
A Police Officer's Oath

"On my honor, I will never betray my badge, my integrity, my character or the public trust. I will always have the courage to hold myself and others accountable for our actions. I will always uphold the Constitution, my community, and the agency I serve."
Elected Sheriff's Oath of office.

Do you see the difference? Do you now see why it is so important you Elect a Constitutional Sheriff?
If a city 'defunded' or disbanded their police department, wouldn't all law enforcement just fall to the county Sherif.....
In most states, the county or parish Sheriff is already responsible for all law enforcement in the county.
If a municipal law enforcement agency was disbanded, it would be the county sheriff’s obligation to provide police services to the municipality.
In actual practice, the responsibility might be split between the county and a state law enforcement agency, depending on the available manpower and resources. In the case of larger city with a substantial police force, the requirements could be beyond the available resources.
What would probably happen is that the sheriff would simply recruit officers from the disbanded department, who would still be certified or licensed law enforcement officers. .
The county would then either ask the state to create a special taxing district so the costs are borne by the residents of the city the disbanded its force or simply assess the city a certain amount for provision of services.
This actually makes a fair amount of sense. Officers with troubled records would simply not be hired by the sheriff’s office while the good officers, who have experience in the city, could be retained.
