Only black people are forced to go through the world trying to placate every damn body & watering down their cause to accommodate everyone else. This happens w/immigration, women's rights, LGBTQ rights & every other group trying 2 use black Americans as their umbrella.

Then when black people need these same groups 2 fight on their behalf, we often stand alone or have them fight against us. Being an ally doesnt mean you are looking 2 gain any damn thing off our fight. It means fighting 4 the people who built the nation U love & enjoy.

FM, any black LGBTQ person saying "ALL Black Lives Matter" is doing the exact thing that police who say "Blue Lives Matter" or others who say "All Lives Matter" do. Youre hearing a statement as the negation of your own existence. EVERYTHING IS NOT ABOUT YOU ITS ABOUT US.

It's ok for someone to say "Black lives matter" without U feeling like its a personal attack on you. Hearing every statement as some type of negation of you personally is the height of insecurity. I have never seen a banner that read "Only Some Black Lives Matter."

This is analogous to white people refusing to hear Kaepernick's protest as being about police brutality & just changing it 2 what they want it to be about which is the flag and/or national anthem. Black LGBTQ people who do this are unknowingly aligning w/white people...

This is why I loved James Baldwin, Bayard Rustin & Lorraine Hansberry. They never put their sexuality before their race. They saw the same ruse that Frederick Douglass & Ida B. Wells saw with white feminists who pitted black women against black men. Divide & conquer.
