She is so correct imma subtweet and start a thread about how correct. First off, the left has families and jobs, righties. Marriage stopped being conservative DECADES ago. Also, where do you think the left gets funding and "job security"? 1/n https://twitter.com/DrKarlynB/status/1272597986682400768
2/n They get those things because they picked jobs where they could get that security. The right lies to itself that it cares about money, they work low paying jobs with no prospects allatime, but unlike the left, those jobs aren't usually public sector.
The left does politicize everything, and the right's response is to run and hide, again and again. But if someone is chasing you, you're going to end up against a wall and *have* to fight. But what does the right do? They stab their fighters in the back! 3/n
Phyllis Schafly, dismissed as a crank. Trump, sneered at as uncouth and stupid. Gene Stratton-Porter, forgotten and only revived with embarrassment and excuses. I've covered 100 years of strong right wing ppl who fought and won many battles w/those 3. 4/n
The right also DOES NOT VOTE. Another self-serving myth. They don't vote and do in fact hate high-turnout cycles. But the path to avoid eternal high-turnout was to keep up non-voting civic work. Righties didn't, let lefties professionalize/credentialize it. 5/n
Righties have an image of themselves out of tv, bein' all super civic and stuff. But they're consumers and abandoned civic duties. Now they turn out below Dems in many blue states and cry about voter fraud (another excuse to not show up). 6/n
I have spent years working on a path to getting both righties and lefties some of what they both want, and I have had the most pushback and sabotage from the right. Even SJWs haven't tried to keep me from working as hard as righties have. 7/n
Now having said that, things are still early stages, but the biggest issues I run into are excuses from the right about why this or that "can't be done, liebrulz control it/have it" and it's just a defense of passivity and refusal to defend anything at all, even family. 8/n
I guess that's the core of why @DrKarlynB is so right about righties. What I'm doing is likely gamechanging but will take ~15 years from when I started to see results. THIS IS A COMMON LEFTY APPROACH BTW. Righties are currently mad Trump hasn't fixed it all in 3 yrs. 9/n
Righties think everything changed overnight. No, you just looked up after decades of enjoying the cheaper products and running from the costs and hiding from confrontation. So now you want it all fixed instantly, just like a spoiled consumer. That's no longer doable. 10/n
The right is now where the left was in the 1940s. They'll have to suffer, probably badly and to get anything they want will take at least 5-10 years of actually voting at 90% rates just to get started and another 10-20 from there. Better options than left had then, take them!
