1. It's OK to stim. Don't push it down - let that energy out! #Autism
2. Don't force yourself to mask too much - know your own limits. Don't risk burnout. #autism
3. It's OK to have a very small circle of friends. It's OK to have online friends too. #autism
4. You can get reasonable adjustments in your job, if you have one. Make *full use* of this - there's no shame in it. #autism
5. You are not a 'failed autistic' if you're bad at maths. You don't need a magical savant skill. #autism
6. Be aware that people out there may be willing to take advantage of you and your nature. It sucks but it's a fact. Be careful. #autism
7. You don't have to go clubbing if you don't want to. #autism
8. Sensory issues are not a flaw or mark of shame. Don't put yourself through excessive sensory hell if you don't want to. #autism
9. There's nothing wrong with wearing the same clothes all the time, so long as they're clean (ish). #autism
10. Think very carefully about big life decisions that will change your daily routine - especially having children. It's a massive upheaval - make sure you know what's coming. #autism
11. Don't be afraid to get a trusted person to help you with your budgeting and finances. #autism
12. Really try hard to get a balanced diet, even if it means eating very similar stuff all the time. It's not easy but it's pretty vital. #autism
13. There's no shame in online dating or meeting people online, but *be safe* at all times. #autism
14. Try to go to the doctors for check ups as a routine thing so you don't put off getting treatment for things. #autism
15. Do not believe that being #autistic gives you a pass to be prejudiced in any way.
16. You are capable of being in a loving relationship, no matter what people might say. Similarly, it's OK to have zero interest in such things. #autism
17. Make sure you are totally clear on the idea of sexual consent and don't be afraid to be very clear with your partner. If they don't like it, that's on them. #autism
18. Join online groups based on your big interests - it's a life changer. #autism
19. Be wary of office politics - it can be an absolute killer. Steer clear if possible. #autism
20. Understand that people *can* be nasty and mean. Be wary of people's motives and don't be afraid of asking about them plainly. Beware gaslighting. #autism
