A Delicate Deception seems to be 1.99 everywhere (possibly only in the US? possibly only where the ebook gods smile upon us?) today only??? https://books2read.com/u/mqrDGO
However! This week let’s commit to buying at least two books by Black authors. So here are some suggestions for people who have liked my books for whatever reason
Disabled characters? Cinnamon rolls? Supportive friends and family? Talia Hibbert's Get a Life Chloe Brown has all that PLUS a grandmother I would commit crimes for. The writing is so good I want to cry. https://www.amazon.com/Get-Life-Chloe-Brown-Novel-ebook/dp/B07KWHP3CG/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=get+a+life+chloe+brown&qid=1592240415&sr=8-1
There are sunshine/grumpy dynamics but GaLCB is a rare instance of the woman being the grumpy one, which makes my heart sing. I only read it a few weeks ago, and I'm now in a fight with everyone who didn't make me read it when it first came out.
The next in the series comes out next week, and the heroine is bi (I think?).
If you like my books because they populate a well-known histrom time period with people we don't always see, I loved the Bashful Bride by Vanessa Riley HOWEVER I'm dying over the cover, title, and premise of her upcoming A Duke, the Lady, and a Baby https://www.amazon.com/Duke-Lady-Rogues-Remarkable-Women-ebook/dp/B07W4MRQZ6/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=vanessa+riley&qid=1592241724&sr=8-1
The Wright Brothers series by Christina C Jones is filled with characters who love one another while also taking no shit from one another (and that goes for the main couple and also their friends & family). https://www.amazon.com/Getting-Schooled-Wright-Brothers-Book-ebook/dp/B01AIS80FK/ref=sr_1_5?crid=20XROPJFESI62&dchild=1&keywords=christina+c+jones+wright+brothers+series&qid=1592242326&sprefix=christina+c+jones+%2Caps%2C212&sr=8-5
I cannot emphasize how funny these books are, but without ever crossing over into ther sort of sitcom-style drollery that puts me off a lot of alleged comedies. The books are funny because the characters are funny. Also, the audiobook narrators make the jokes land.
Ok I just finished Running with Lions by Julian Winters and it is wholesome as hell. It’s a sports-centered queer YA that might even be accessible to younger teens, with a romance subplot and lots of supportive friendships. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NYBD5KG/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_UWy6Eb93CF3X3
Nobodyon this website or planet needs me to tell them to read Alyssa Cole, but I will just point out that her perfect f/f historical novella is not mentioned nearly enough in discussions of queer histrom and also it made me cry so I’m resentful https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DPTPDPB/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_2yz6Eb96A5WN6 via @amazon
