I'm awfully sick of the dialogue painting a binary choice: a job you hate vs the music career you love.

Aside from the very rare superstar artist, 99% of us need to create multiple revenue streams to survive and fund our creative endeavours.
Secondly, you can and should pursue a career that you love. And that may or may not directly involve music.
And just because you love making music, doesn't mean you'll love working in the music industry.

I love my day job, and I love financial stability even more.
For 15 years, it has allowed me to make the music I want to make without chasing trends.
