1. Some of you might remember me posting about my dad. He joined a special forces unit called the Raiding Support Regiment during WW2.

Seems I might owe my existence to Lieutenant Craven of the RSR.
2. Always a bit wary of unsolicited DMs but this one was intriguing.
2. If it was a scam it was an incredibly elaborate one.
3. All of this I’ve already mentioned on Twitter so it’s not private information.
4. I’ve tried without much success to find information about my dads service so this was interesting..
5. I was a bit shaky by this point.
6. But the mention of a pocket watch did take briefly take me to a dark place.
7. Marco sent me a pic of the watch Lt Cravens son had.
8. Being a tad over cautious I asked Marco to send me a screenshot rather than the file he wanted to send.
I should point out that my dads war records state that he was wounded twice.
9. I have a photo of Lt Craven but wont post it until I hear back from his son. Very dashing chap.

If it turns out that Gunner Kennedy was in fact my dad, I’ll raise a glass to the lieutenant and Gunner Lardner.
