The purest aspect of Bhakti through meditation is Roop Dhyana. Here Roop means 'The Form' and Dhyana means 'To mediate Upon'. To cleanse the mind, we must fix it on an object of meditation that is itself pure.
Our mind is like water, The way water keeps flowing mind also keep flowing sometimes into past and sometimes into future. Our mind is composed of Material energy Or Maya ,
it has three gunas called sattva guna, rajo guna and tamo guna) which keeps fluctuating , so to stabilise these fluctuation we need to mediate.

By mediating on the divine form of Ishwara, we can activate the grace and all his noble characteristics ,
and can feel that all these qualities of Ishwara are flowing towards us.

The purpose of doing bhakti is to purify our mind , the moment when we spend remembering Ishwara it purifies our mind and we will enter into the purest aspect of devotion,
after that (when our mind is fully purified), we enter into the Supreme Bhakti of Ishwara.

It is mentioned in our scriptures that, Ishwara is present in his name itself , by chanting simply the name of Ishwara, we can get out of our illusions and purify our mind.
As Bhagvad Geeta says:

मां च योव्यभिचारेण भक्तियोगेन सेवते।
स गुणान्समतीत्यैतान् ब्रह्म भूयाय कल्पते ।।

"I am Divine, If you fix your mind on me, it will rise above the three modes of Maya"

When we mediate upon the ocean of eternal happiness (Ishwara) the peace and calmness
Of our surroundings emanating from Ishwara slowly overtakes our senses and then we are able to feel our inner self .

Sometimes ,we may not able to visualising the actual divine form of Ishwara ,it doesn't mean that the way we are mediating is wrong
it means that he is still gracing us for our pure devotion towards him.
