Thread: I've been thinking about what it means to post bird pictures during these difficult times. It isn't escapism, its processing. The more than human world is flowing, deep in its knowledge, and rhythm, despite our best efforts. 1/5
It's a constant reminder that there is a way of being, of carrying purpose, of sense making, that operates in a web all around us even while our society tangles into a ball of bile and harm.
I take pictures 2 align with the world. I search my archive 2 remember a clarity modeled by birds, 2 recall the brushing wind, the land, the light. 2 know R responsibilities lay beyond ourselves & that we’re capable of fighting racism while marveling at a swift in a warming sky.
Remember that these images were taken by a Black man in the U.S. Consider the context that entraps every conversation with bird & beast. Each image the result of a Black man in our cities, in this age. What U see are single frames of my story. I'm grateful 2 be able to share them
