The Navajo Reservation spans over 27,413 miles, this is 3,000 miles more than the state of West Virginia (24,000). So tell me why we only have 13 grocery stores? Our reservation is a food desert, not to mention almost half of our people are without running water and electricity.
This directly contributes to the high rates of cases and deaths from COVID-19 on so many levels. This not only means that there’s not enough food, water & supplies to keep up w/ our population but this also forces us to travel to border towns/cities where COVID-19 hotspots exists
Here’s a thread of fundraisers that u can boost. I cannot reiterate this enough: PLEASE listen to indigenous voices, not only that, also uplift our stories & support us. Many think we’re extinct like dinosaurs (not joking) & im here to say #WeAreStillHere! https://twitter.com/beatbybenally/status/1255604308814462976?s=21 https://twitter.com/beatbybenally/status/1255604308814462976
