I have been collecting stories from people concerned about gender identity being written into law & public policy and overwriting sex.

Over 500 from the UK this week. It will take a little time to sort through them.

Here is some data (UK respondents only)
Overwhelming it is women who are concerned about this (9 to 1)
They span the age range, but tend to have more rather than less "lived experience", as they say
About two thirds are parents
And around a quarter are LGB
They are less religious than the UK population as a whole

(in case you are still imagining that this is US style culture wars playing out...)
More than 8 out of 10 say they are not as publicly vocal on this issue as they would like to be
The main reason for this is that they are worried about consequences at work or in their profession

(....tell me about it 🙄)
But nevertheless they are politically active on this, in ways that they feel are 'safe' for them
Politicians on the left that have been dismissing these women and relying on simplistic slogans, need to understand them and the issues motivating them.

They are not against transgender people's human rights.

More from their stories next week
