Kai Havertz: Can Chelsea sign him?

Chelsea have made no secret of their desire to sign to German star. Talks are underway but how realistic is a move to Stamford Bridge?

Havertz has an expressed a desire to play in the Premier League and remains close friends with Timo Werner. The chance of working with Frank Lampard coupled with the attractive London lifestyle might be enough to tempt Kai into a move to Chelsea. #CFC

HOWEVER...

1. It’s understood that Real Madrid are keeping close tabs on the attacking midfielder. As the most decorated club in Europe, it will be difficult for Havertz to turn down Los Blancos if they come calling. Toni Kroos has allegedly spoken positively to Havertz about a move. #RMCF

2. Barcelona, although linked with Havertz, are not in a financial position to pay Kai’s asking price. They are out of the running. #Barca

3. A move to Bayern Munich remains a strong possibilty. Havertz has been brilliant in the Bundesliga and a move to the champions could easily happen. Leroy Sane still remains their top target but will command a big fee. It’s in Chelsea’s interest for Sane to make the move. #FCB

4. Man Utd were also linked with Havertz, however today it is now reported that focus has switched to Dutch ace Donny van de Beek. Utd are also becoming less and less of attractive prospect for Europe’s biggest stars. #MUFC

5. Liverpool’s name has been thrown into the mix, however citing Werner as ’too much of a financial risk’, there’s almost no chance of the club launching a bid for Havertz. #LFC

6. Finally, two other possible destinations include Juventus and Inter Milan. Both clubs have the means to pull of the transfer but it is understood that Kai Havertz has no aspirarion to play in Serie A. #Juve #Inter

So... Chelsea do stand a very good chance of landing Kai Havertz. The Blues have enough pulling power to get their man however are arguably sitting 3rd in the race behind Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. It’s going to be an interesting race though with Marina at the wheel. #CFC
