I've been trying to teach myself how to draw and to create comics and that's super hard, and I've found more bad resources for learning than good, so I want to make a thread where I shout out the truly helpful stuff.
The obvious one is the works of @scottmccloud. Particularly Understanding Comics and Making Comics. They're comics about the art of comics and they're so insightful it hurts.
The second is @BonesMFleming and @ursulaoctopus on youtube. They're a pair of queer folks who make comics online and make very helpful videos regarding how to make comics from both art and writing perspectives. https://www.youtube.com/user/Darkenedavo
The third is the drawing tutorials of @daisyein https://tutsplus.com/authors/daisy-ein which are about a hundred times clearer and easier to follow than any other I've encountered.
I'm gonna start posting these as new replies to the first tweet instead of one chain so I don't ping everyone previously mentioned each time
A great thread about drawing from reference: https://twitter.com/Coelasquid/status/1274565109952638977?s=19
