because y’all don’t read links, i’m about to make a thread of why circumcision is a horrible thing to let happen to your baby.

1. circumcision was originally promoted to desensitize the penis and curb masturbation. it had (and has) nothing to do with penile cancer, STI/STD susceptibility, or hygiene.

2. the United States is the only country that routines practices infant circumcision for non-religious reasons. the American Academy of Pediatrics does NOT recommend infant circumcision.

3. while healing from circumcision, the head of the penis develops a thick layer of skin to protect it. this is what ultimately leaves circumcisied penises significantly less sensitive than uncircumcised penises.

4. circumcised men are 3 times more likely to experience early onset erectile dysfunction.

5. CIRCUMCISION REDUCES A BABY’S RISK OF GETTING A UTI BY 1%. IN OTHER WORDS, TO PREVENT 1 UTI, 100 CIRCUMCISIONS WOULD NEED TO BE PERFORMED.

6. the belief that circumcision “reduces your risk of contracting HIV/AIDS” is a myth. the USA is the only country that routinely circumcises male babies while simultaneously having one of the highest incendences of HIV/AIDS, still.

7. 117 babies die each year due to circumcision complications. the penis is a highly vascularized area that contains a significant amount of blood flow. a newborn baby only needs to lose 1 oz of blood to hemorrhage.

8. cortisol levels (cortisol is a stress hormone) in male babies skyrocket during circumcision. although babies may not remember the details of the procedure, the pain and trauma from circumcision impacts them long term on a hormonal level.

9. FORESKINS ARE HARVESTED AND SOLD. THEY’RE PUT INTO RICH PEOPLE’S COSMETIC PRODUCES AND USED FOR “ANIMAL” TESTING. THEY’RE ALSO USED FOR SKIN GRAFTS AND EATEN. CORPORATIONS PAY THOUSANDS FOR ONE SINGLE FORESKIN. don’t exploit your son like that.

10. circumcision does not reduce a man’s chance of penile cancer (which is already rare). the only valid medcial reason for infant circumcision is when the foreskin is too tight to retract.

“easier hygiene” isn’t a reason to let them chop your baby’s penis up. it’s your job to teach your child how to clean themselves, male or female. and before they can, it’s your job to keep it clean. cleanliness eliminates 90% of the “reasons” they validate circumcision with.
