I read a book recently..

‘The Fear Bubble’ - Ant Middleton

It was a present - almost read by accident

This is no book review 👊

But the aim is to convey a powerful & effective concept to you 💥

How to segregate & channel your fear for positive gain..
The author was a special forces operative

Understandably, he’d suffer anxiety & fear in the weeks leading up to warzone deployment

He was safe in the UK with his family

But the anxiety of ‘going back’ would overwhelm him

This wasn’t sustainable

Something had to give..
He came up with a powerful method to combat fear 👊💥

This was called ‘The Fear Bubble Technique’

Instead of worrying & procrastinating over what might happen

You breakdown what you’re actually fearing

And ring-fence it – put it in a ‘bubble’
While your fear is in this bubble

You don’t need to think about it

You don’t need to worry about it

You don’t need to experience anxiety over it

It’s in that bubble

You control where that bubble is

You control when you choose to enter that bubble
Your fear needs fuel to exist

You must feed it or it will die

It survives off your nervous energy

It’s similar to the energy adrenaline gives

Thrill-seekers find ways to actively invite this energy

They use this energy for positive experiences 👊🔥
Your energy is limited

If you channel it into the worry & anxiety in the run up to an event

Your supplies when you actually get there will be running low

You will become focussed on conservation

Not optimisation

This must be flipped 👊🔥
You can do this by shutting down the energy tap

And ramping it up when you enter the bubble

Your energy & focus can all be unleashed into overcoming your fear when it’s right in front of you 💥🔥

Not when you’re comfortably sat at home
You step into the bubble

Deal with the job in hand 👊

If it becomes overwhelming

You step out, regroup & go again

YOU HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR 🔥🔥🔥
This is a powerful technique 👊💥

But..

Preparation is key to successfully completing any difficult task

Often preparation can be put off

Due to the fear you’re experiencing in the lead up to the event itself

Your fear of the event can become a self-fulfilling prophesy
This technique frees up your nervous energy to put into preparing well

Giving you confidence to be ready & confidence to deliver with skill
