Never make it seem like you don’t have a clue, act like you BEEN doing this shit and this is just another collection

Do your designs on adobe illustrator it's more professional
My template for reaching out to new manufacturers

Hello,
Hope you're well.
I am a UK based designer, I’m looking to produce some custom designs, I’ve attached my illustration below are you able to provide me with a sample? Look forward to hearing from you.
Also useful, ALWAYS work DIRECTLY with a factory and not an agent, remove the middle man.

To be able to distinguish whether a company is a factory it will have GARMENT in its name.

An agent will have BUSINESS in its name

ie this is a Factory: Guangzhou Weixin Garment Co
Once you’ve received a response from the manufacturer FYI some will not reply at all, that’s also fine don’t get discouraged.

Here are some important questions to ask, makes it seem like its not your first rodeo, also its essential information before you commit to anything.
1. What is your MOQ and price for bulk production?
2. What is the price and time involved for a sample?
3. What is the relationship between production and quantity levels?
4. What is the turnaround time for samples and bulk productions?
5. What are your payment terms?
<Samples>
The average price per sample:$40-60
Anything more is a bump, but it depends on the fabric

ADVICE// PERFECT the fit, use your own standard UK size measurements from the START, their sizing is greatly smaller than ours LEARNED THIS THE HARD WAY
Don’t worry if the fit is off on your first sample you get another sample once you’ve paid for bulk production.

Sampling is where things start to get HELLA pricey and in a HURRY. To combat this commit to one design from early.
Once you’ve received the sample and you’re happy with it test with a small audience get a couple first reactions.

Then we can think back to the price you were quoted earlier for bulk productions.

Start off with 100pcs, the best split in 40S/30M/30L just an example
Remember everything is up for negotiation.
Production of 100pcs will take 2 or less weeks then 1 week shipping but this varies.

FYI shipping will be expensive let me not lie shipping will probs be 15-20% EXTRA on top of the bulk production price so +$200-300 depending
And then you have to save money for that CUSTOMS bill sweetie which is 10-15% of the bulk production price as well the manufacturers will nice you though and say the value is less than it is so you’re charged less customs.
And that’s not including the packaging, but that’s significantly cheaper a custom frosted zip bag for 300 pcs I was quoted $145 so its really decent.

Production is only step 1. There is more money to be spent and loads more to be done

Any other questions DM me.
Also big misconception that overseas manufacturers have crap quality you can REQUEST whatever fabric you want so honestly the choice of quality is up to you
