The #bitcoin community needs to abandon its current logo.

The slanted, orange ₿ is perfect for "magic internet money" but not for a "trillion-dollar asset class" or "world reserve currency."

No wonder people think we're crazy for paying $10,000 for one of these.

This issue was raised in 2015 by a talented graphic designer:

At the time, the "₿" symbol was not in the unicode library, so she (and others) promoted "Ƀ".

@MartyBent also uses "Ƀ".
While I prefer "Ƀ" (it's more streamlined and, honestly, it's easier to write), "₿" is the predominant symbol used now.

Both look good compared to other currencies.
Going back to the main issue, that silly slant (which @jack and @twitter adopted: #bitcoin ) and--orange? ORANGE? Why?

According to this source, the color was selected simply because it was an even number when expressed in CMYK (0,50,100,0). https://medium.com/@_Phil_Wilson_/bitcoin-symbol-and-logo-origins-5d428d40380
To the #bitcoin community, @bitcoin @PrestonPysh @MartyBent @hodl_american @TuurDemeester @jack @SwanBitcoin:

As we expand bitcoin's reach and teach the world about its benefits (and the reason it exists in the first place), we seriously need to reconsider how we brand (!) it.
I know, I know: "Bitcoin isn't a company!" Unfortunately, not everyone knows that.

Right now, most people look at that slanted 'B' #bitcoin and think it's just another PayPal, or some new kind of credit card, or simply "magic internet money."
The idea of #Bitcoin came to us from some genius computer/economics nerd(s), but it needs a community of writers, graphic designers, finance bros, etc, to get it to "phase 5" and beyond.

To get started, I propose the following:
1. Redesign http://www.Bitcoin.org  (here are some of my thoughts on that).
2. Redesign (or simply stop using) the slanted-B-silly-orange-circle logo.

https://bitcoinsymbol.org/

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Promotional_graphics
3. Stop using hyperbolic promotions.

e.g.

a. "Bitcoin is the easiest way to..." BITCOIN IS NOT EASY. It's incredibly difficult, yet powerful.

b. "Bitcoin will MOON!" Well, yes, but that sounds like a pyramid scheme; instead, perhaps, say "FIAT IS A SCAM."
Ok, that's all I've got for now.
