Dear twitter friends, the situation in Delhi is getting worse, the twitter feed is full of people dying or going to 4 to 5 hospitals without finding a bed. So with a group of colleagues and the team @CharityBeds_ we will start updating some details on twitter and Facebook.

We will call the hospital numbers, check if the phone is being picked up, sometimes it may still not get picked up. We will share data points like at 5 pm today, Batra Hospital does not have any Covid beds. We will try our best and sometimes we may not have the right information

But the team at Charity Beds, Gagan and Lalit will do what they can to help, we are not the govt nor the hospital, we are people like you, and we are starting this now. So here is update 1 as of 6.45 PM Saturday.

LNJP, (Lok Nayak hospital number
01123232400) is working, COVID +ve patients need to go to Gate No. 4, LNJP hospital and ask for the duty officer. There are beds available and we have checked.

Update 2 at 6.55 pm Saturday. Covid beds available at GTB Hospital also, number to call and check is 01122586262. We have called and spoken. @virsanghvi @Suhelseth @BDUTT @rahulkanwal , please spread the message, we will update status and our team @CharityBeds_ will help.

Update 3 at 7.30 pm, Saturday - Safdarjung Hospital is only taking SERIOUS patients on priority. The doctor on duty will take a call if the patient needs to be admitted. The number for Safdarjung Super Speciality block is 01126761225

Update 4 - DO NOT GO TO RML HOSPITAL, no Covid Beds. Please go to LNJP. Before going, call the number in Update 1. A lot of people are going to RML hospital, they have ZERO beds as of now. Do not waste time.

Update 7 - 8.20 pm - We have been speaking to a lot of doctors in all hospitals. There is a shortage of doctors and nursing staff, we are sure in Mumbai also, maybe the Army doctors and nursing staff can help in these two cities. @PMOIndia @ArvindKejriwal . Tremendous pressure.

Update 8 - This is from doctors we are talking to - Sir I would request you all to urge for reimposition of a strict lockdown in Delhi NCR for a week till there’s adequate supplies of Atleast Remdesivir/Favipiravir, Toliciluzumab and Plasma to enable a decent fight against Covid.

Update 10 - 9.20 pm - Gangaram Hospital has very few beds and that also for private patients with a minimum deposit. It’s now a Covid only hospital, call before going at 01142254000.

Update 11 - 10.30 pm - Satyawadi Raja Harishchandra Hospital, Narela has 200 beds for Covid patients but we are unable to get in touch with them.We will get information in the morning for that. Anyone in Narela, who can go and tell us ? We will update.That’s a big number of beds.

Update 12 - 11 pm, Saturday, the govt has mandated hospitals to accept the all cases even if you don’t have a positive or negative report and provide all medical attention in Delhi. That’s your right. All you need to do is to go to a hospital which has beds available.

Update 13 - By tomorrow except our coverage to increase to more hospitals. But it’s a Sunday so phones may not be picked up, we will have our people go and check physically in some cases. Both RML and Gangaram are severely stretched so do not go there without calling.

Update 66 - UNPOPULAR VIEW - Situation in Delhi is critical and we have failed in two things 1. Containment strategy http://2.Contact  Tracing,leading to a higher nunber of cases.All the state Govt needed to do was focus on basic execution,which they did not.Lockdown again.

Update 67 - Why lockdown, so healthcare and hospitals can cope up. Strict containment strategies can be implemented and in case you are in touch with someone, you can be traced and quarantined. More doctors and nurses need to be arranged from other states including armed forces.

Update 78 - 6.30 pm - Delhi Corona App has not been updated for St Stephens hospital since 3:54 pm on 10th June and shows availability of 53 beds. @Charitybeds_ spoke to the hospital and they said the App is showing incorrect data and they are fully occupied at the moment.

Update 79 - Situation is grim.Delhi and now even Gurgaon has kind of left you to fend for your own self. Traffic volume on roads is back to 75% & with no quarantine and contact tracing strategy in both cities your chances of getting infected are pretty high. Bhagwan Bharose !

Update 80-Thank you for all your kind wishes for @CharityBeds_ and my team.We have tried to help and the situation on the beds front is better than what it was last Friday,but with growing cases and no one focussing on HOW infections are increasing, we are fighting a lost battle.

Update 81- At this rate, no matter how we try and help the situation with beds or ICU’s,you won’t be needing an update from us as no beds will be available or we will have to let more people die because we failed them, CRITICAL- quarantine and stop the movement. 2137 cases today.

Update 142 - 9.45 AM - If you stay in Delhi, and I have spoken to a lot of people who have got infected inspite of all precautions. The area where they got infected was grocery shopping and buying medicines, that’s where you need to enforce 2 meters distance and a good mask.

The key is to wear a mask ALWAYS, NOT be in a closed AC area with people and keep a 2 meters distance from EVERYONE when you are out of the house. This will protect you. Take some immunity boosters, eat well and take all precautions. Delhi is serious. Take care.

IMPORTANT UPDATE - 152 - 8 PM, Thursday, 25th June : Delhi needs help with critical patients. When a Covid+ patient become CRITICAL, and may go on a ventilator or is on a ventilator, PLASMA THERAPY is needed. Let’s make this simple for everyone, what is plasma therapy ?

UPDATE 153 - Plasma therapy is needed in severe patients, and how can you help ? 1. If you are someone or know someone who has been infected with Covid and tested NEGATIVE more than 15 days back, then please it is YOUR DUTY to PASS on the favour. You were lucky you got saved.

Update 154 - All you need to do is follow twitter or Facebook accounts of so many people trying to help, call the number on the message, if your blood group matches, please go to the hospital and donate 1 unit of blood. YOU WILL SAVE A LIFE ! And it takes 15 minutes.

Update 155 - You stay in Rajouri Garden and patient is in Max Saket, no problem, please go, it will take you 1 hour to reach and only 15 minutes to donate blood. You don’t see the patient, you don’t enter the ward. Its a simple blood donation at the blood bank.

Update 156 - Your 15 minutes can give a life to someone. You are alive because your family took care of you, the doctors and the nurses took care of you, please return this favour. Please help fellow Indians. You may not be at the border with the army, but this is no less.
