A lot of white folks are asking me how they should respond to black trans lives in black liberation. First of all I just want to say that I am extremely grateful for your care and attention on this issue and your desire to uplift all of blackness.

Transphobia & Queerphobia is a complex social issue in our Black community.
White folks should not instruct black folks to or how to accept black trans folks in the movement for black lives b/c queerphobia & transphobia in our communities stems directly from white colonialism.

Black folks are victimized by white supremacy, & part of the colonial project was to instill not only hetero normative ideas, values, & principles in replacement of our own but also self hatred as well.
So critiquing black folks struggle in collective healing would be an insult.

For now, the most helpful message you can share in protest and for the movement for black lives as white folks queer white folks is something like "white people for black liberation/black lives" Or "White Queer people for black lives/liberation".
Anti blackness AND TRANSPHOBIA also exists in lgbtq spaces.
The way you can respond in that instance when its about queer and trans rights, you may amplify that BLACK TRANS LIVES MATTER.
