I was tired of being forced into a barber's chair as a child & teen bimonthly when my hair was too long to comb through a small comb. Rather than caring for it, we remove it.

My brother has 6 adult men pin him down to cut his hair as a child and he would resist. Tears would stream down his face and they would force clippers over his head.

I see teens think in order to move to people they like, they have to have a trim bc they look "better". Who told you that?

Ever wondered where some Black men have such cruel comments towards Black women's hair? Alongside it being misogynoir, this is another core element. We've been subtly & violently taught to hate themselves & their Blackness.
