THREAD Reiner Armin and Mikasa will be very important I think for the character of Eren at the end. Cleary for me They represent : the Past, the Present, and the Futur :
Armin is the Past, the childhood, and the dreams they had together, the fact that it was thanks to armin, that Eren wanted to visit the outside world and that he learn the notion of freedom.
Armin can represent this nostalgia, for the desire to freedom that Eren wanted when he was just a child. A friendship filled with hope and dreams
Reiner represents the Present. Why Eren wants this freedom, Reiner and Eren are very similar and Eren is now fighting as Reiner fought to protect his people and his people, Reiner is the key to the character of what Became Eren now.
And reiner is the one who understands the most why Eren does this. The only one who saw his true face in chapter 100, the only one who heard Eren speak frankly and honestly.
Finally Mikasa represents the Future. A future that could have happened between Eren and her. A life that Eren could have had if it was not his destiny to destroy the world. A future where their two worlds are not cruel but just beautiful
And how a simple question of Eren could, perhaps, have consequences and change their fates.. Mikasa saw the vulnerable side of Eren for a short moment. Their destiny is bound and will always be represented by the scarf
So the three pf them, together, can defeat Eren.
Past, Present, Future that meets by reminding Eren all that he was and all that he could have been.Together they can save Eren. Hopefully it’s not too late already...
