Just gonna add that the only country that executes more of its civilians than Iran is China. Both nations do their executions in private without proper trials and people just go "missing" so exact numbers are hard to come by though estimates from families reach high numbers.

Iranian wrestler Navid Afkari was executed on Saturday 9/12/2020, after he was tortured into making a false confession. There is no proof of his guilt.
