Just a few months after the Dominican Republic (then called Republic of Spanish Haiti) declared its independence from Spain, Haiti invaded & occupied it. At the time Haiti had a pop of 600,000 vs only 70,000 for Dominican Republic, which also had no army.

For 22 years the blacks of Haiti oppressed the Dominican people.
"... the Haitian government imposed heavy taxes on the Dominicans."
"... the Haitian government imposed heavy taxes on the Dominicans."
"Since Haiti was unable to adequately provision its army, the occupying forces largely survived by commandeering or confiscating food and supplies at gunpoint."
"Attempts to redistribute land conflicted with the system of communal land tenure (terrenos comuneros), which had arisen with the ranching economy, and some people resented being forced to grow cash crops..."
White people were forcibly deprived of their property, stolen by the oppressive Haitian invaders.
"Several resolutions and written dispositions were expressly aimed at converting average Dominicans into second-class citizens..."
The Dominicans got organized. The Dominican War of Independence was on! How did it go once they organized an army & started to fight back?

In the first major battle, The Battle of Azua, 2,200 Dominican troops beat the hell out of 10,000 Haitian army troops, killing 1,000 (10%) while losing only 2 themselves. That is right, the Dominicans killed 1,000 Haitians while only losing 2 themselves.

The Battle of Santiago was the second major battle. In it only 500 Dominican troops defeated a Haitian army of 10,000, killing between 600 to 715 of them.

This was a small *rebel* army that had to organize and train in secret, & it beat the hell out of an enormous occupying army of blacks.
Blacks led by blacks can sometimes beat non-black armies in battle if they have an enormous advantage in numbers & if the non-black army they are fighting is particularly badly led.
We can see that at The Battle of Isandlwana & at The Battle of Adwa (although in the later case, the enormous black army had support from other Europeans, so maybe that one shouldn't count).
Even Che Guevara bitched about how lazy and useless black communist soldiers were.
Back in 2015, Nigeria had to use its oil money to hire a bunch of old white boomers from South Africa to fight off Boko Haram attacks. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/apr/14/south-africas-ageing-white-mercenaries-who-helped-turn-tide-on-boko-haram
Units of black soldiers can be useful when trained and led by non-blacks. Same goes for Arab soldiers. But you really have to keep on them.
Even whites or Asians set-up a well ordered army made up by blacks/Arabs but trained & led by non-blacks/non-Arabs, once it is handed over to them to led themselves, it doesn't take long for it to lose much of its effectiveness.
I remember reading about a case in I think Sierra Leone where a white mercenary was leading a force of black gov't troops to victory. They were winning the fight, but then the white leader was shot & killed, and so all the blacks soldiers just ran away.
Sierra Leone hired a white soldier to train & lead its army in battle against brutal rebels. Because of this, it was having great success until he was killed. Then they started to lose ground again, & many people were murdered.
Black soldiers from Nigeria were being killed in droves, so they pulled out. So Sierra Leone hired a white led company of only 200 mercs, & they saved the day. https://www.nytimes.com/1999/02/04/opinion/saving-sierra-leone-at-a-price.html
But then the 'world community' got angry because the didn't like that Sierra Leone hired mercs, who succeeded at the job that black soldiers from African nations had failed at. So they ordered the mercy out of Sierra Leone. Then the rebels came back and murdered even more ppl.
*mercs, not mercy
Freetown kept getting sacked. The people kept getting murdered and raped.
Finally, after even more years of non-stop murder and rape, the UK sent in soldiers to put a stop to the mess.
Finally, after even more years of non-stop murder and rape, the UK sent in soldiers to put a stop to the mess.
So the only things that ever worked at putting a stop to the insanity in some way involved white soldiers/mercs.
Even the great victories of ISIS in 2014 were due to their field commander being a Chechen, not an Arab.
I read an article at the time that quoted an Iraqi soldier. He said that when the Americans were there, they made sure that training was done and done right. But after they left, the Iraqi officers stopped doing things the American way & things would be done the Iraqi way.
Then when ISIS attacked, the Iraqi officers were the first to run away.
A bold but stupid American led 45 other random Americans to capture the city of La Paz & conquered the Mexican state of Baja California.

After learning more about him, William Walker was actually a really bright guy. It seems his big mistake was making an enemy of Cornelius Vanderbilt. He may have been successful otherwise.

"Generally speaking, taking the average of the Draft, only about 6% - less than 8% - have the characteristics to be combat soldiers - from the mental standpoint alone, hence the difficulty of finding suitable noncommissioned officers..."
