My new therapist asked me what I felt what help is. I said, “Making something easier for people.”
Her: “A friend calls & says they are broke down on the side of the road, what do you say?”
Me: “Ima go help them.”
Her: “Is that what you heard? Answer again.”

Me:
Her: “Did they say they needed your help? Did you get anymore details on the situation outside of knowing they are broke down?”
Me: “No.”
Her: “So why do you expect people to know what you need if you don’t say it? Or do you expect them to offer like you do?”
Me:

I’ve always known that I needed therapy... but it’s so much deeper that shit you’ve experienced in life. You really gotta know what you wanna get out of it. This is our 3rd meeting and this is the most I’ve gotten out of therapy after so many times of trying. She’s amazing.
