Hey @spotify. I feel like I’m working for you here. I really think we should look at how much you give to artists. We should work together on it. It’s just not fair at the moment. You have an amazing thing - it just needs to be fairer

This is a graph of 12 months of Spotify streams of an album - finishing with the day of our listening party. It was a top 10 album when released in the 20th century - we are bringing people to Spotify but so many bands have lost their income. You really need to think of them
I am not doing this for me or my band - this is for bands who need an income as their livelihoods have gone but their work is being consumed. We need to start talking ;

A few people have pointed out that Spotify make losses so can’t pay much to musicians. They have 130 million paying subscribers. They reportedly (as in it has not been disclosed) paid £180m to acquire a podcast company called Gimlet. We are only asking for a fair deal for artists
