See how a floodgate has been opened now that the merch has been fixed? Instead of realizing that the Weverse shop responds only to people contacting their email, there are many people who believe it was the hashtags that got their attention, so I'm concerned about a few things.+
A. Because of the people who think hashtags are the right way, we are now going to see a dramatic increase of them being used.

On top of that, they're going to be used for more petty/unnecessary things that really could be solved if you just email the correct people.+
B. The hashtags that we will see in the future will be overrun by solos and mantis.

This is one thing I'm most concerned over. Because lately, they've been given too much power in the fandom and have used it to spread narratives about BTS and the company which aren't true. (1/2)
So if another honest mistake happens next time, these people will take to hashtags and trend them, and that could end up negatively impacting the group as a whole. Which leads me to my next point. (2/2)+
C. Due to our hypervisibility, media will pick up on these hashtags and use it to twist narratives.

Soon we'll have media outlets reporting "BTS member ____ isn't being respected? What's going on behind the scenes at their company?" And other dumb stuff like that (1/2)
which can be used as ammunition by other fandoms and locals to make BTS or their company out to be a certain way. Think about the mess that could cause. It would undo all the work we put in to show people that BTS are not puppets and that BH is not mistreating them. (2/2)+
So I'm going to tell you how you CAN help to avoid these issues as best as we can. Because our fandom is massive, and therefore it's very easy to trend things, so let's make sure we don't trend for the wrong reasons.+
1. Be careful which accounts you give clout to.

Just because they have a BTS member in their pfp, doesn't mean they're an ARMY. There are plenty of solos and mantis who only care for a few or just one member. Look into the account to make sure they're not one of them.+
2. Always do your research.

I know it's been said, but not everything on the tl is true. Some people take things out of context, or spread misinformation because of what THEY'VE read on their tl. So please fact-check the info in people's tweets before liking it.+
3. Subscribe to solo/manti blocklists.

There are plenty of people who handle the creation of those blocklists, so please utilize them. The less people see their tweets, the less engagement they get. And the less engagement they get, the less they spread. Everybody wins.+
4. Never resort to trending hashtags as Plan A.

Hashtags should be reserved as a last resort option if all else fails. But as we've seen, BH and Weverse (as well as other people affiliated with them) readily respond to emails. So hashtags are not even needed, really.+
5. Stand your ground against solos/mantis.

Solos and mantis pick on people who are naive or vulnerable because they're easier to manipulate. So if one of them is trying to attack you, don't give into them and just block and report. Show them you're not intimidated.+
6. Most important of all: LISTEN TO WHAT BTS THEMSELVES ARE TELLING YOU.

BTS have said many times that they rarely ever have issues with BH and have said to trust the members. They have been with BH for 7 years and have trusted BH enough to renew their contracts. (1/2)+
You think some ARMY from across the pond who never read their contracts, never met BH staff, and never met BTS will know what's best for them? Let's not forget that BTS have their own legal representatives outside of BH. They know what they're doing. RESPECT THAT. (2/2)+
These are all the tips I have for you today, but if you have any more, PLEASE share them in the comments. The fandom is going through a lot of changes rn, so please just hang in there.

Stay safe, everyone. 💜✨
