1) BREAKING: Prominent Neo-Nazis group disseminating allegedly "hacked" emails from @gatesfoundation & @WHO, two partner orgs at front of #coronavirus fight. Data posted first to chan board & pasting site. @siteintelgroup/ @SITE_CYBER currently investigating. [THREAD]
2)Alleged email/pw lists, which far-right attempting to use toward harassment campaign, span following orgs & respective unique entries:
@NIH: 9,938
@WHO: 2,732 (also contains non-WHO domains)
@CDCgov: 6,857
World Bank: 5,120
@GatesFoundation: 269
Wuhan Institute of Virology: 21
3) WaPo citing @siteintelgroup findings on hacked emails of @WHO, @GatesFoundation, other leading orgs in #coronavirus fight. As I'm quoted, far-right seized on the data w harassment campaign as "part of a months-long initiative" to weaponize the pandemic.

4) Our findings were also cited in @VICE, to which I explained that amid the #COVID19 pandemic, the far-right is growing an “enormous capacity to disseminate” such content—from conspiracy theories to “hacked” data like yesterday’s
https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/akwxzp/neo-nazis-are-spreading-a-list-of-emails-and-passwords-for-gates-foundation-and-who-employees
5) Far-right channels on TG alone have seen major increases in subscribers. One popular channel to share the lists went from 3,658 in Dec to 5,317 as of April 21. Others from 88 in Dec to 424; 616 in Jan to 1,146 now. Thus, their power to disseminate dangerous content is growing.
6) Authenticity of the data still under investigation, but some has been confirmed. The lists of these creds, housed on pasting site, appear to first be posted to far right-frequented 4chan. Unclear data was retrieved/compiled by a far-right actor(s), tho not out of the question.
7) Far-right still troublingly occupied w email “hack,” tho no new info about its source. Users rampantly sharing archives of email creds far across channels/groups after removal from Pastebin. Some have implied they were able to login to some accounts. https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2020/04/21/nearly-25000-email-addresses-passwords-allegedly-nih-who-gates-foundation-are-dumped-online/
8) Similarly to ISIS supporters recycling publicly available data for “kill lists,” far-right doesn’t care where these email creds are from or who compiled them; only thing that matters to them is that it’s available for their purposes (i.e. spreading conspiracy theories, etc.).
