A thread on Netflix's subtitle mistakes / poor English subtitle for #HospitalPlaylist and how they're supposedly be.

(Disclaimer: we ourselves aren't that good in Korean, but the Netflix's subtitle mistakes are just too glaring that it's hard to ignore 😰)
1. Episode 1 #HospitalPlaylist

Netflix sub gave away the spoiler about the chairman's youngest son by putting his name when his mom just refers to him as "magnae" (youngest).
For the ripped sub ver, luckily with @gabbyu_subs' help we manage to change it avoid the spoilers 🤭
2. Episode. 1 #HospitalPlaylist

When 👦SH & 👩SH were talking about doing it (band), Song Hwa was sulking, saying he just need Ik Jun for it (ie vocal). Netflix wrongly subbed it as "He said no" & "He won't" ❌

Actually, 👦SH was talking about 👩SH who can't become the vocal.
3. Ep 1 #HospitalPlaylist

This is just our pet peeve rather than a fault in the sub. NF sub it as "my gf" instead of "Song PD", the name said by Jun Wan. It's not wrong, but just a pity that int audience lost the opportunity to know her name(& job) in a supposed 1 brief mention
4. Episode 2 #HospitalPlaylist

Netflix sub vs literal translation.
When Seok Hyeong was talking about the reason why he was rejected by Song Hwa, the literal translation of what he said is:

"She said there's someone else / she had someone else".
4. Episode 2 #HospitalPlaylist

Netflix sub vs literal translation.
When Jun Wan asked Jeong Won about his promised single room in Yulje instead of having to share one room with him, Jeong Won gave an excuse it's because they're "일심동체" (one in body and soul).
5. Episode 1 #HospitalPlaylist

It's nothing much but here Netflix sub omitted the mention of "(your) younger sister", thus making the int audience didn't get to know that 'Ji Eun' whom they were talking about earlier is actually Seok Hyeong's younger sister.
6. Ep1 #HospitalPlaylist

Dr Bong whined Song Hwa buys him only an Americano, she replied

"Americano should be good enough. Btwn same batch friends, if we give something better (than Americano), it'll make us uncomfortable towards each other"

But Netflix sub didn't capture that
7. Ep. 2 #HospitalPlaylist

The sub is correct. But just to offer something extra on the literal meaning for the sake of the play on words

Note: Going to the bride's/groom's home means getting married
시집 (sijib): groom's home (for women)
장가 (jangga): bride's home (for men)
8. Episode 2 #HospitalPlaylist

When Chairman Ju asked the squad if anything romantic ever happened between the 5 of them, Rosa's reaction were translated differently by Netflix, disconnecting her words from the b/g sound of a stone thrown into the water earlier in the scene :/
9. Episode 10 #HospitalPlaylist

Song Hwa literally said "Jeong Won ah, let's get married", not sure why the sub just sub it as "get married" 🤔
10. Episode 10 #HospitalPlaylist

The thing Jeong Won and Ik Jun were bantering about is not about him saying her name, but how JW used an informal speech (banmal) in saying "hi" to Gyeo Wool
11. Episode 10 #HospitalPlaylist

Netflix sub vs literal translation. Jeong Won supports Song Hwa's purchase and he actually literally said:

"Live while doing what you want. That way, you won't get sick"
12. Episode 10 #HospitalPlaylist

Netflix sub vs literal translation. When Chi Hong asked the question about her thought on dating co-workers, Song Hwa literally said:

"Why not? I actively encourage it. It's good if you can rely on each other in hard times"
