I was reading articles on Hindus in Indonesia and I found out that a hindu organization “Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia” claimed that in 2005 18 million Hindus live in the country. (1/n)
Additionally, in 2010 minestry of religious affairs in Indonesia estimated that 10 million Hindus live in Indonesia. However, on the 2010 census the government put 4+ million Hindus.
If what the Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia organization is correct on 18 M Hindus in 2005 the number must be doubled that currently. While majority of Hindus do live in Bali. The island won’t be able to hold that many people.
Bails population is under 5 million. With that said the community must be spread across the country. I do wonder why the government undercounts them.

This is an old note from Indonesia’s currency. Notice how Ganesh ji is on it. However I believe they stopped using it in 1998 and replaced it with a new note. Not sure the reason. But still intresting to see.

Kejawen, is a indigenous/animist Javanese faith has no recognition in Indonesia but in Suriname. The faith is increasing amoung the Javanese community in Suriname same with Hinduism.
