We have a responsibility problem. When it comes to taking responsibility we often assume it is rather done by others than us. This is why we blame others for what we could have easily accepted our role in and avoid unnecessary conflicts with people who simply want to get us.

I have said countless times that people really don’t buy into our competencies, capabilities & expertise but the stories we tell. Everything you are confident in are simply noise in your head that must be communicated effectively for others to feel & connect to your rhythm.
The more knowledgeable you get the more your are prone to lose empathy and struggle with emotional intelligence. Some call this the curse of knowledge that prevents you from realizing how it feels not to know. You simply forget your own journey & how things used to be.
We assume people ought to just understand at your own pace and if they don’t they are lesser beings and too stupid to relate with you. In no time you isolate yourself & become a social pariah even though you may be the best at what you do. But of what good is this without impact?
Your ability and proficiency must be couched as the music in your head that only you can hear. No matter how popular that song is, tapping it out on your fingers won’t sound the same to third parties. Only you assess yourself to be keeping to time & to others you’re making noise.
Data is not the same as information. You can be buried in data of years yet make no real sense of it. This is natural because the human brain is divided into hemisphere that processes logic as well as emotions. This is why a balance is necessary in communication.
This is where the magic of story telling comes to play. A magician that simply make stuff disappear and re-appear will not make an impact as much as one who tells a story with his acts. There must be a connection point that shows empathy for people to hold/relive the experience.
“We have a story problem. All of us do. We’re not doing a good job of developing the empathy to turn all the data we’ve assembled into a story that others can understand.” No one really needs to be lectured on Kinetic theory of matter, they just want to know why matter differs.
Why does a splash of water on your face makes you giggle and a hit on the face with a brick makes you cry? There you go. You get the icture better now between a solid state and liquid state of matter differing only in the compactness of the molecules therein. Stories work magic.
To all the techs out there and folks who labor in vain to prove they are better than others, I plead that you stop making enemies unduly and be more expressive. Emotional intelligence is essential. We were all perceived as stupid once & most people still live in that village.
Your innovation, ideas, concepts etc will never manifest or be adopted without the necessary connection. No one trust people they can hardly understand. This is why politicians don’t surround themselves with smart people unless they are good communicators & emotionally sound.
More certificates won’t prove or justify your qualifications in an engagement age. Your ability to engage and storify does. Nobody connects with your regurgitation of what they can search on Google. They rather want to see a human embody those & apply it beneficially to society.
