I don't know if anyone else gets this, but scrolling Twitter and wanting to engage somehow can lead to either a totally blank mind or just negative ideas.

Thought I'd write myself a list of nice ways to engage & share it in case it's useful to any other artists out there :)
1) Retweet some old work, maybe add a relevant update in a reply! I've found this doesn't seem to bother anyone as long as it's not the same piece over and over.

2) Have a look for new art to love! Go to the feed of an artist you already love & see what they've retweeted lately.
3) Compliment someone else's work - maybe that new art you've found, or on a webcomic update. Let them know what you love about it. Maybe pick something that doesn't have loads of comments already.

4) Retweet someone else's art - add a compliment if you haven't already
5) Answer a question - set your feed to "latest tweets" and see if any mutuals want help with anything.

6) Talk about something I enjoy and care about - drawing or comic theory, or inspiring parts of comics I'm reading, moments in stories I loved, and why.
7) Talk about a creator whose work I'm inspired by - link specific pieces, tag them, say nice things!

8) Post some old work that I've never posted if I haven't got anything new. Use it to comment on ways I'm trying to improve, or ideas for future development.
9) Talk about a moment that changed how I see my art, or how I see other people's art. It could be a revelation to someone else, too.

10) Tag a good friend or old mutual that's also online - ask them what they're up to.
11) Ask for specific advice: is there some element of drawing I'm struggling with? Ask if anyone has any good ideas or knows of any relevant tutorials.

12) See if anyone can recommend me new artists to follow based on a few prompts.
13) It's easy to get distracted, especially by emotionally charged things, so if you don't want to get sucked in, decide what kind of interaction you want *before* opening Twitter. Pick something from this list & seek it out as if you're walking through a crowd to a destination.
14) Browsing mindfully: If you find your timeline overwhelming, take time to feel where each post is coming from. Remind yourself of who is talking and your connection, linger on their art like you're in a gallery, appreciate the time they spent and appreciate your time looking.
